Caravelle by Bulova, the stylish and contemporary accessorizing brand by Bulova, launched a national search in August 2012 for one lucky girl to star as the Face of Caravelle. Partnered with Lucky Magazine, their intent was to find a female who would represent the brand in a fun, fresh, and vibrant way. Built as a nationwide casting call, the contest called upon women to submit an online headshot to the Face of Caravelle website. Once submitted, each photo was to be reviewed by a panel of fashion experts from Bulova and Lucky Magazine.
Spanning a four-week period, the contest was flooded with over 2,500 entries from all over the country. Overwhelmed by the excitement and interest generated by the contest, Bulova and Lucky Magazine made the decision to allow the Face of Caravelle contest to continue growing. One girl would be named the “Face of Caravelle,” while five others would receive public recognition and glamorous prizes. Lindsay Carey was named the Face of Caravelle and won $1,000 in Caravelle by Bulova and Lucky Magazine products, a professional photoshoot with hair and make-up specialists, a behind-the-scenes video capturing her shoot, and a feature in December’s issue of Lucky Magazine. An additional 25 girls were selected as finalists, vying for the top five prize-winning spots. Caravelle enrolled fans to vote online for their favorite girls and determine the five winners. After two weeks of voting, a beautiful and diverse group of girls landed the top spots and received prizes including a trip to NYC for two, a $1,000 shopping spree, a new iPad, and, of course, Caravelle by Bulova watches.
